Brave Space Alliance

Brave Space Alliance is a comprehensive LGBTQ+ center located on the South Side of Chicago, IL, dedicated to providing affirming and culturally competent services to LGBTQ+ individuals throughout the South and West sides of the city. Founded in 2017 to address a critical gap in advocacy and community support, BSA offers a robust suite of essential programs and resources designed to support dignity and well-being across multiple life domains. The organization operates the Dignity Suite, providing health-focused services rooted in their Four Pillars of Dignity addressing Health, Housing, Food, and Identity. BSA also manages a Community Pantry to ensure food security and operates specialized support groups tailored to community needs. For those facing housing instability, the Jasmine Alexander Housing Initiative provides critical assistance and pathways toward stable housing. Beyond direct services, Brave Space Alliance actively recruits and supports volunteers, maintains current job openings for community members, and welcomes individuals seeking employment or career development opportunities. Operating Monday through Thursday from 10am to 4pm and Friday from 10am to 2pm, the organization maintains accessible hours for those seeking services. With a commitment to mutual aid and knowledge-sharing, Brave Space Alliance empowers community members through dignified, for-us by-us programming that centers the leadership and voices of trans and gender expansive people in Chicago.
