Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center

Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center provides comprehensive support and programming for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, families, and allies throughout Durango, Colorado and Southwest Colorado. The organization operates multiple weekly drop-in programs offering safe spaces where youth can connect with peers, access snacks, games, and mentorship in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment. RYC specializes in youth-led educational and social activities designed to support overall well-being, including specialized programming for transgender and non-binary youth and their caregivers. The center offers one-on-one mentorship services, Queer Sex Education curriculum, and afterschool programs including Rainbow Youth Rising and Tea Time gatherings. Beyond direct youth services, Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center has become a regional resource for professional development, providing staff trainings to non-profits, schools, businesses, law enforcement, and human services organizations on LGBTQIA+ terminology, best practices, and community resources. The organization hosts monthly Saturday events and coordinates guest presentations from community professionals. With a dedicated team of counselors, program directors, and mental health specialists, RYC delivers clinical counseling, therapy services, and caregiver support groups. The center maintains a strong volunteer network and operates entirely free programming, relying on community donations to sustain its operations. Founded in 2015 in response to direct requests from Durango High School students seeking safe community space, Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center has grown to serve 8-20 youth weekly while establishing itself as the go-to community resource for 2SLGBTQIA+ issues in the region.
