About PFLAG White River Valley

White River Valley PFLAG was founded to provide a venue for education, support, and social activities for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community and their families, friends, and allies.

We have member-elected officers and are a chartered not-for-profit organization. We belong to the national PFLAG organization based in Washington, D.C.

One of our goals is to assist families in coping with the discrimination that results from having a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender family member. To that effect, we provide a safe and confidential environment to express and share feelings and experiences.

PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons, their families, and friends through: support to cope with an adverse society; education to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights. PFLAG promotes opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and acts to create a healthy and respectful society.
