QWELL Community Foundation

QWELL Community Foundation delivers comprehensive services designed to improve LGBTQIA+ wellbeing across multiple dimensions in Austin, TX and Greater Austin. The organization addresses physical health, mental health, relationships, community connections, living environment, learning opportunities, and economic conditions through an integrated approach grounded in data-driven research. QWELL operates Austin Outpost community centers that serve as gathering places where LGBTQIA+ residents connect with affirming resources and build meaningful relationships across generational and demographic lines. The foundation works to maximize access to LGBTQIA-inclusive healthcare by partnering with local health systems and training providers in cultural competency and affirming care standards. QWELL's technology initiatives include innovative digital tools that help residents anonymously access information and resources without leaving their homes, alongside the FreePrideFlag.com platform that mobilizes community engagement. The organization hosts QueeringSocial events providing intergenerational support systems focused on healing, and co-produces the Colors of Pride Gathering celebrating QTPOC (queer and trans people of color) in partnership with community leaders. QWELL also plans mixed-use developments featuring affordable housing, retail, and community spaces designed with people-centered urban design principles. Through annual wellbeing surveys conducted with University of Texas researchers, QWELL generates critical population health data on the nation's third-largest LGBTQIA+ population, informing evidence-based programming and community advocacy.
